I decided not to do “traditional” dog training classes because I feel that owners do not get the amount of time required to train their dogs the way that they want, due to class size, and they don’t get to ask all the questions they have; if they miss a week, it is gone forever (or you need to do the whole course again) and the dog gets bored with hour-long sessions.
Only mixing with the same few dogs each week – or worse, still only puppies -does not help at all with socialisation. After all, dogs mix mostly with adult dogs when they grow up!
Puppies need all-round education, from how to socialise with other dogs of all ages and sizes, to sitting nicely and waiting patiently when required.
