Nearly all of my behavioural/training and puppy classes are one to one and are taught using the reward and praise method. No aversion or harsh techniques are used. I believe they are simply not required for the training of your dog, at best it would temporarily suppress problems and in some cases could even make them worse. It also means that puppies can be taught from the day you bring them home!
I do 3 sessions with owner and dog, tailoring it to the dog, as not all dogs (or owners!) process things at the same rate. Many dogs end up in rescue between 9-18 months of age for a reason, don’t let your dog be one of them, bring them up to be a joy and enhancement to your family by doing it right from the beginning rather than having problems and trying to sort it later down the line.
